The new 30,000 M2 center is at the heart of Banco Santander and Banco Serfin Strategic Alliance. It is the first building of this alliance’s campus. GDS was commissioned to design this first component; the use of large 6,500 M2 floor plates, unusual in Mexico, is an ideal solution for the banks’ requirements. Dividing the floor plates with a powerful, linear, triple height atrium allows natural light to penetrate all areas of each floor, and provide open space for circulation and informal meetings.
To compensate for the distant location, the bank asked GDS to design a stand-alone cafeteria, a sports club, and community space where the staff can relax, socialize and pursue their personal well-being; activities necessary not only for a strong community, but also for a culture of corporate loyalty, which is a growing business attitude in Mexico.
